The Microscopy Core is a nationally recognized core service at IUSM that provides outstanding consultation and access to state-of-the-art microscope equipment. To better serve the area diabetes investigators, the Microscopy Core will additionally provide consultation and specialized services for intravital microscopy of pancreas and transplanted islets, FRET assays, and fluorescent biosensors for analysis of intracellular signaling cascades.
For more information or to request services, please contact one of the following:
|Epifluorescence microscopes and digital workstations||$25/hr|
|Leica SP8, Olympus Fluoview 1000 MPE1, Fluoview 1000 MPE2, Spinning Disk Confocal||$30/hr|
|Technical assistance or training||$60/hr + system rate|
Note that the hourly rate for use of confocal/MPE systems reflects a 50% discount provided to CDMD investigators that is made possible by a $30/hr subsidy provided by the CDMD. For CDMD investigators who are also associated with the IU O’Brien Center or the IU Center of Excellence in Molecular Hematology, projects will be evaluated by the P30 directors to determine whether the CDMD hourly rate subsidy is necessary/warranted. Users will be billed directly by the Indiana Center for Biological Microscopy.
