About MMIA

What is Molecular Medicine In Action?

A hands-on program for high school sophomore, junior and senior students to experience the methods scientists use in unlocking and deciphering the molecular, cellular and genetic basis of diseases and processes such as cancer, diabetes, stem cells and angiogenesis.

What will I learn at MMIA if I am selected as a participant?

The role of angiogenesis in diseases, how cancer cells respond to drug therapy, the various types of stem cells, techniques in siRNA knockdown for cancer therapy, research models used to investigate the causes of diabetes, and more!

How do I apply to participate?

In order to be selected for attendance at the MMIA event, you must apply using our online application and have a teacher recommendation. The submission deadline for both is November 16, 2020 and the final selections will be made by our committee no later than January 15, 2021.

“A great program and I would definitely suggest it to anyone even a little bit interested in science and science careers.”
